27 or 28 weeks? I’m losing track.
So, maternity clothes. I was so excited (seriously!) about them at the beginning of my first pregnancy. Then I came to realize the really nice stuff is super expensive, Motherhood Maternity is a cruel joke, and you get sick of most of it anyway. So this time around I’m trying not to buy too much I won’t be able to wear later. I’m a big believer in Cost Per Wear; I’ll spend a lot of money if I’m going to get a lot of use out of something; and maternity stuff that fits for five months tops just isn’t worth it. Especially since we’re not sure if/when we’ll have another baby.
Besides these jeans, and a few dresses on super sale, I haven’t purchased any new maternity clothes since I’ve been pregnant. I have picked up a few cardigans that I can just wear unbuttoned for the next few months, and a few pieces of jewelry. We’ll see how the next few months goes, maybe I’ll check in again when I’m getting to the “is it appropriate to leave the house wearing pajamas or a muumuu?” stage.
anthropologie sweater and belt, gap t-shirt, old navy maternity jeans (they claim to be jeggings but fit more like stretch skinny jeans), frye boots.
I have been living in my jeggings this winter - they have completely saved me so far from maternity jeans. I just bought a regular pair at American Eagle, and I’m going to have to grab another since I’ve worn this pair so much they’re start to get a hole in the back pocket. But I adore them, super comfy, stretchy and not all the pressure on my bump.
I’m hoping I can stretch them out through the winter with regular long tops. I do have a couple maternity sweaters, which are nice and comfy. One was just a hand me down and the other a gift from my MIL. Otherwise, I don’t have any other winter maternity clothes…. I’m hoping this can work until the end. I’m due in the spring and have some comfy skirts and long dresses that I’m hoping will work when I’m huge!
Motherhood Maternity is a joke… as I’m finding most the maternity sections to be. Kohls cracked me up the other day. The tiny section I found, had tops that look just like anything I would have grabbed in the woman’s section, but were marked up to cost about double. I was very amused…
BTW - those boots, AMAZING. I need some frye boots!
